Document Imaging

Document imaging is the most efficient and cost effective method of maintaining an electronic file of documents. If searching through intense paper document productions exhausts you, then imaging is the solution. Our facility has experienced document specialist, high-speed equipment, and extensive quality control to guarantee the highest quality and consistency. View our Document Imaging brochure.

The Imaging Process includes the following:
  • A design meeting to determine the needs for the project (at no cost)
  • Document preparation, including bar-coding and/or document assembly with break sheets in order to accurately match the images to the original documents.
  • Highly experienced image operators scan the documents using a process that guarantees 100% accuracy. Computerized numbers can be assigned to the documents, which is an efficient and cost-saving substitute for manual numbering.
  • The images can be OCR’d (Optical Character Recognition), which converts document images to searchable text, and that text can be imported into several software applications, such as Concordance and Summation. OCR can be an affordable substitute for subjective document coding.
  • The images are exported into the requested format and transferred to a CD or DVD.

Syngence® (Value Added Re-seller)

Optical Word Recognition (OWR)

A process similar to OCR in which the software interprets document images using several OCR engines at the same time and compares the results to a built-in dictionary. Noticeably more accurate than OCR especially on older or poor-quality originals.

Document Coding

BlueStar utilizes comprehensive bibliographic coding processes to create an accurate index that is searchable in any number of databases, including Concordance and Summation. After the documents have been coded, a staff of legal assistants reviews the data to locate and correct any errors. BlueStar uses a 100% quality control process that includes, but is not limited to, field conformity, name conformity, spell-checking and number-checking, to ensure accuracy and consistency.

The coding databases are customizable according to the needs of the client, using standard or custom fields. BlueStar also offers both objective (bibliographic) and subjective coding.
